"This has been the perfect mixture of discipline and informality. You identified my questions before I had them, and you resolved them completely. I appreciate the post-conference support... I'm sure we'll be using it as we start to use the machine in our practice. I'm glad we came."
Gerald Aaronson, MD, Decatur, Georgia

Most of our Guests have had some informal exposure to ultrasound before they come to class; many have not. We created this course to close this gap from uncertainty to confidence, for any area you’ll come to work in.

Exactly what its name implies, this course is best short-term preparation possible. Even if you are already experienced, the classroom instruction alone will demystify virtually all of the academic concepts of ultra-sound physics and instrument controls. We will focus on the common, universal applications of ultrasound technology, using different organ systems as test models. Accordingly, we do not target your experience to a single organ system. We’ll also make use of several different manufactured systems to help you gain confidence in the common operation of any machine you will come to work with.

The difference between mediocrity and expert is in any career field usually only about 2%. Complete this course and you’ll come away with knowledge and skills that will boost you far above the rest in your field.

Class runs from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm over two days. One half of your time will be spent in classroom lectures and one half in instructor-guided, small group hands-on sessions.

Our clinical hands-on instructors personally guide each Guest through specific exercises to accomplish maximum skills development. Our hands-on approach is focused on optimizing your performance for any specialized exam. In-depth techniques for specialized applications are covered in our dedicated hands-on courses, conducted separately.

2 day seminar.   Tuition:  $600.
SDMS/ARRT CME HOURS: 11.0 where applicable

Hands-On Urology Ultrasound

This course is structured specifically for the Urology Professional: it covers the entire range of physics/instrumentation, hands-on and interpretive clinical applications for your practice.

One of the greatest strengths of this seminar is the comfort of small class size and the luxury of time to interact freely. With your hands on the probe you'll be able to expand your clinical skills into the soft tissue image analysis of the kidneys, bladder, penis, testicles, and prostate through surface and transrectal approaches.  Also included is the dynamic assessment of blood flow in the organs and how it relates to hypertension and erectile dysfunction.

Once you've arrived we'll begin a pleasantly intensive program of training in the mindset and hands-on skills necessary to become expert. We'll tailor our delivery to your individual needs as we work together in small group sessions. Upon completion of this seminar you should find yourself prepared to launch your own independent clinical experience with, or under the supervision of practicing professionals.

Class runs from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm over three days. Half of your time will be spent in classroom lectures and half in small group hands-on sessions. Classroom lectures emphasize the thought processes necessary to understand the integration of complex pathologic processes as they occur. Accordingly, our focus is on normal structural relationships in hands-on sessions, and abnormalities as presented in lecture and case study presentations. Our clinical hands-on instructors personally guide each Guest through specific exercises to accomplish maximum skills-development.

Twelve to eighteen Guests usually comprise the class. Your peers will likely include a range from allied health professionals to physicians, all with limited or no formal hands-on experience in urology imaging.  Hands-on scan groups range from four to six per system.

Hands-On Transrectal Ultrasound

Learn to see familiar organs through the eyes of the ultrasound transducer, and you’ll never think the same about them again. The most effective instruction in Transrectal Imaging comes from both practical, formal didactic instruction and direct, hands-on experience with the probe. This course is focused to this precise goal, by doing both. Together, we’ll systematically integrate acoustic physics and instrumentation skills into your existing clinical knowledge base.

Our classroom focus is on soft tissue imaging and the nature of sonographic change with disease. In hands-on sessions our focus will be on pre-biopsy imaging techniques to help you confidently determine the presence, location and nature of prostate lesions.

Then, together in small group hands-on sessions, we will study and practice the precision techniques necessary to evaluate completely the male pelvis using both imaging and Doppler blood flow technologies.  Normal subjects are utilized in hands-on sessions; complex pathologies are stratified in classroom exercises using still frame and video case studies.

Class runs from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm over two days. One half of your time will be spent in classroom lectures and half in small group hands-on sessions. Your peers will likely include a range from allied health professionals to physicians, all with limited or no formal hands-on experience in transrectal ultrasound techniques.  Hands-on scan groups range from four to six per system.

Regardless of your background experience, you will find the small, interactive class size to your advantage, in that we are able to tailor your learning goals to your own interests and needs, without compromising your formal training experience.
