"This is my second visit and hopefully not my last. Aside from all I've learned, what is the most important is the experience, the event. No adjective or adverb can accurately describe what KMA does or is."

Most of our Guests have had some informal exposure to ultrasound before they come to class; many have not. We created this course to close this gap from uncertainty to confidence, for any area you’ll come to work in.
Exactly what its name implies, this course is best short-term preparation possible. Even if you are already experienced, the classroom instruction alone will demystify virtually all of the academic concepts of ultra-sound physics and instrument controls. We will focus on the common, universal applications of ultrasound technology, using different organ systems as test models. Accordingly, we do not target your experience to a single organ system. We’ll also make use of several different manufactured systems to help you gain confidence in the common operation of any machine you will come to work with.
The difference between mediocrity and expert is in any career field usually only about 2%. Complete this course and you’ll come away with knowledge and skills that will boost you far above the rest in your field.
Class runs from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm over two days. One half of your time will be spent in classroom lectures and one half in instructor-guided, small group hands-on sessions.
Our clinical hands-on instructors personally guide each Guest through specific exercises to accomplish maximum skills development. Our hands-on approach is focused on optimizing your performance for any specialized exam. In-depth techniques for specialized applications are covered in our dedicated hands-on courses, conducted separately.
2 day seminar. Tuition: $600.
SDMS/ARRT CME HOURS: 11.0 where applicable |

The only thing more complex than the ever-changing ultrasound findings in pregnancy is the deceptive subtlety of findings in the nongravid female pelvis. Both areas will require you to combine your clinical knowledge with new technical skill—to be able to see with the eye of the transducer.
Voluntary facility credentialing guidelines now endorsed by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology—as well as individual professional certification—demand that we demonstrate our mastery of this technology. Legislation to regulate this entire field of practice has already been introduced (and, for now, defeated) in the United States Congress. A higher-than-ever standard of practice before is upon us, now. This course will help you build the careful foundation of both kinds of skills you’ll need to ultimately fulfill these stringent guidelines.
Together we will carefully erect the mindset necessary for you to think and act with the eyes of the ultrasound probe as you study pelvic anatomy in the gravid and nonpregnant state. We’ll master the science and safety of ultrasound techniques using both surface and transvaginal approaches.
Most unique in this course is the use of live subject models for all aspects of hands-on training.
Class runs from 8:30 am to 5 pm over five days. One half of your time will be spent in classroom lectures, half in small group hands-on sessions. New is an optional sixth day, dedicated exclusively to live hands-on transvaginal scanning.
We will personally guide you through specific exercises to accomplish maximum skills-development. You'll also have unlimited access after hours to the equipment and selected video instruction for self-directed study at your own pace. Classroom lectures emphasize the thought processes necessary to understand the integration of complex pathologic processes as they occur. Accordingly, our focus is on normal structural relationships in hands-on sessions, and abnormalities as presented in lecture and case study presentations.
Eight to fifteen Guests usually comprise the class. Your peers will likely include a range from allied health professionals to physicians, all with limited or no formal hands-on experience in OB/Pelvic sonography.
5 day seminar. Tuition: $1,500.
SDMS/ARRT CME HOURS: 27.5 where applicable

The complexity of ever-changing sonographic findings in pregnancy is matched only by the subtleties of findings in the nongravid female pelvis. Both require a mastery of clinical knowledge and technical skill that goes far beyond the training usually offered in either area alone. Voluntary facility credentialing guidelines endorsed now by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (as well as professional certification) demand that we demonstrate our mastery of this technology.
This course, focused exclusively on endocavitary application, will help you quickly build the careful scientific and technical skills foundation necessary to ultimately fulfill these stringent guidelines. Together we will carefully erect the mindset necessary for you to think and act with the eyes of the ultrasound instrument as we study findings in both the nonpregnant and 1st Trimester pregnancy state. We will work with normal, nongravid subject models to develop the precision techniques necessary to document and measure all pertinent findings. We will learn the process of differential pathological analysis in class, through still frame and video case studies.
Class runs from 8:30 am to 5 pm over a weekend. One half of your time will be spent in classroom lectures, half in small group hands-on sessions. Classroom lectures emphasize the thought processes necessary to understand the integration of complex pathologic processes as they occur. Accordingly, our focus is on normal structural relationships in hands-on sessions, and abnormalities as presented in lecture and case study presentations. Our clinical hands-on instructors personally guide each student through specific exercises to accomplish maximum skills-development.
Six to twelve Guests usually comprise the class. Your peers will likely include technologists, nurses, and physicians form the radiology and OB/Gyn workplace.
If you seek to develop expertise in surface OB imaging you should consider our Hands-On Pelvic & Obstetric Imaging course, above.
1 day seminar. Tuition: $600.
This course provides 3.5 classroom contact hours only.

Interpretation of the Pelvic & Obstetric Ultrasound Examination
All eyes—including those in Washington, D.C.—are now focused on the safe practice of health care in motherhood.
The American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology recognizes the impending pressure from government and private sectors to credential the use of ultrasound in this field. All parties stipulate that the physician director undergo at some point a formal course of study focused on the interpretation and standardized reporting of test data.
This course will lay the cornerstone and foundation for your learning to see with the eye, and think with the mind, of the ultrasound instrument. We will help you establish the scientific bedrock foundation you require. Our target is the interrelationship of clinical findings with real-time ultrasound image data. We’ll use stimulating lectures, team case analysis, and individual self-assessment exercises to patiently help you reach your goal.
This is not a hands-on seminar; your entry-level or advanced hands-on skills can be refined in our Hands-On Pelvic/Obstetric Imaging seminar conducted continuously in Dallas.
Class runs from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on Day One, and from 8:30 am to noon on Day Two. We’ll use an interactive lecture format to detail the mental mindset and the systematic approach to critical analysis of both pelvic pathology as well as uncomplicated and abnormal conditions of each stage of pregnancy.
Unique in this course is the systematic approach to each scenario. Although this course cannot substitute for the years of experience required to truly master the subject, it is an uncommonly effective framework from which to begin.
Six to ten Guests usually comprise the class. Your peers will likely be physicians and accomplished technologists from varied clinical backgrounds.
2 day seminar. Tuition: $600.
