Fundamentals of Diagnostic Ultrasound for the Beginner
The physics part of echocardiography can be very hard to understand. However, this course
allowed me to fully understand the physics aspect of this subject.
Craig Bair, Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, August 3, 2002
I felt it was a good intro to "get my feet wet" for echoes. The lectures were especially informative. I am not very comfortable with the hands-on, but I feel it will come to me quickly with practice.
Chris Kountoupis, Redding, California, June 15, 2002
I have really enjoyed the sessions and have more confidence that I can accomplish this
--even at 40+. Thanks.
Amy Rutledge, Searcy, Arkansas, June 15, 2002
I really enjoyed the open scan lab. I think the protocols you’ve provided are great, too. I feel you have provided a system so things will not be missed or forgotten by myself. Thank you. Accommodations were
very nice—the classroom had a great atmosphere for a learning environment.
The information was given in an easy learning format.
Deborah Meyer, RN; Hays, Kansas, January 17, 2004
Thank you! The lecture and hands-on experience was clear, concise, ad put on my level as a beginner in the field. I was able to understand and follow the instructions easily. I feel confident that when I go back home I will know what I am doing, and with more day-to-day experience I will only improve the new skills I have. I hope to join in on other classes you offer in the future to further my education in ultrasound. Thank you!
Christa Foster, BSRT, ARRT; De Queen, Arkansas, January 17, 2004
This has been better than any teaching method I’ve experienced so far. The logical, methodological and
repetitive patterns of teaching establish precept upon precept until all the pieces fit together. The information is presented in an interesting manner with examples that are easily remembered for real life situations.
There is no dead weight to clutter your thoughts. The didactic part couples with the hands-on, immediately afterward, teaches you how to put into practice what you’ve just learned. An excellent course for any level of experience or no experience. Head and shoulders above anything else I've taken. Knowledge is power. Thank you for empowering me and giving me confidence to do an excellent job.
Donna Bray, RDMS; Phoenix, Arizona, January 17, 2004
This has been better than expected. This method of teaching should be bottled and taken all over to anyone who intends to study this field because it was well thought out before it was presented and worth every dollar’s worth and then some. I love every minute of the teaching and hands-on was awesome. Thanks a lot.
Sharon E. Stewart, Mount Vernon, New York, January 17, 2004
Wow! I’m so impressed with the amount and quality of information I was given. Everything was laid out in a very structured and easy-to-understand manner. Coming in with no experience and education I was a little concerned. Immediately Keith and Tara made me feel very confident in my own skills. I am amazed at what I am able to do. Thank you!
Kelly Hill; Bettendorf, Iowa, January 17, 2004
This has been better than all others. Keith and Tara—I wouldn’t change a thing, except
to franchise if possible to spread the wealth (of information). The course is excellent!
Judith Abboud, M.D.; Columbia, Maryland, January 17, 2004
Everything was just right and very understandable. Thanks!
Uma Arcot; Germantown, Tennessee, January 17, 2004
Abdominal/Pelvic-Obstetric Ultrasound
This has been better than all other means (seminars, home study, etc.). All instruction was informative. Hands-on very technically valid and useful in home practice. You all have a very good thing going on!
Sam Calvert, March 22, 2002
As always, after finishing one of your classes, I feel prepared to return to my facility and go in with a good working knowledge and the confidence to do an exam.
Darlene Biar, March 15, 2002
Molly is excellent! She is amazing in that when there is an annoying student whose behavior
is trying, she maintains a positive and helpful demeanor.

Cardiac Ultrasound
add testimonial text here. Did not see Cardiac section online.
Physician Interpretation Curricula
The information was presented in a format that was easily digested.
Reginald Robinson, MD, Washington, DC, March 10, 2002
Extremely valuable information presented in a limited time. Obviously Mr. Mauney "knows his stuff". He is an excellent speaker who keeps your attention throughout the course. Thanks!
Hyung Kim, MD, Columbus, Ohio, March 10, 2002
You are obviously excited by the material you present and inject this into the meeting. Some of the material is dry but you communicated it well.
Steven R. Zelner, MD, Fort Myers, Florida, March 10, 2002
This meeting far exceeded my expectations, as it correlated basic science, histological data, and clinical studies in a comprehensive review of the subject matter. The ability to access the KMA staff with questions after returning home is priceless. Also, I expected Keith to be in the boardroom, not the classroom. It was like having Colonel Sanders serve your 2-piece snack at Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Greg Neaville, MD, Batesville, Arkansas, March 10, 2002
Vascular Ultrasound
If I left here without even knowing what a probe is, there is so much more that I have learned. Keith is one of the most important, caring people to exist. Keith and Tara have great enthusiasm for this business. This is nice to see, especially in healthcare today, and for as long as Keith has been doing this. This man has a mission. I am very impressed with the technical skills I have gained here. Coming with NO ultrasound experience, I leave comfortable and excited with this technology. Although Keith makes a living doing this, I believe he would do it for free before he did anything else. This is a great experience.
Greg LaFreniere, B.S., R.T (R) (CT), Oconto, Wisconsin, August 19, 2002
I am very thankful that I was able to return to your program for the peripheral vascular and especially your carotid course. Keith’s vast knowledge and his teaching approach have given me such a thorough training, even though it has been such a short time. This information and assistance has put me so far ahead in time, in a fast-track program. And in our field, anything that can move us foreword more rapidly is truly a great step toward our success.
Jennifer Albers, R.T. (R) (M), Hays, Kansas, August 19, 2002
Great course! Thanks.
Jack Painter, M.D., Fairhope, Alabama, August 19, 2002
Excellent. Thanks for helping me have the confidence to think, “I can do this.” I appreciate your attention to detail and your creativity with the lectures.
Stephen Chastain, M.D., Dothan, Alabama, August 19, 2002
The conference was excellent. It was informative and stimulating. Keith held my attention with his knowledge and his humor. He is an excellent speaker. I felt confident what I was learning was the most up-to-date and the most reliable information available. Not having a background in ultrasound or medicine, I was intimidated andoverwhelmed the first day. However, with Keith’s positive approach and his ability to normalize the information (bring it to layman’s terms) I was able to grasp the information and feel confident in my ability to look at ultrasound. I have a foundation on which to build based on this conference. It more than met my expectation.
Tricia Childress, Duxbury, Massachusetts, August 19, 2002
I had previously taken a one year course in cardiac and vascular ultrasound. Since completing my training I have only performed cardiac. I felt as though I needed a refresher course in vascular. This course from KMA was helpful with covering the basics of vascular and scanning. I think it was what I needed; it helped me remember things that I had forgotten. Keith knows his material. I have never been able to sit through lecture but Keith did very well at keeping my attention. I would recommend this course to others.
Crystal Thames, Mangham, Louisiana, August, 16, 2002
Keith has a very down to earth approach to teaching. He seemed extremely knowledgeable about the subject matter and dedicated to sharing it with the class. I would definitely consider another course, or recommending it to other people. The hotel site was perfect. I appreciate the fact that we are encouraged to contact KMA if we ever have questions, problems, or comments.
Kristin E. Scoffin, Gilbert, Arizona, June 28, 2002
This was excellent in content, without a lot of extraneous info. Information given in a real life type circumstance helps, instead of just giving facts and figures.
Mike Johnson, Manchaca, Texas, June 28, 2002
I like that this is tailored form the bottom up. I didn’t feel lost with all of the information that was presented. I truly appreciate Keith’s style of teaching. He presented the material with knowledge and confidence, and all the while maintaining a level of humor throughout.
Allison (Alley) Powell, RDCS, Tucson, Arizona, June 28, 2002
Good course. I like the laid back atmosphere!
Jose L. Porras, MD, Artesia, New Mexico, June 28, 2002
This new location (Dallas site) was great. Each time I come back, my experiences are better and better. I always leave with confidence and knowledge to take home to apply. My career and personal goals are being met one step at a time.
Tamatha Estein, RT(R), Poteau, Oklahoma, June 28, 2002
This has been better than Owen Brown (courses in echocardiography and vascular ultrasound). I really like your style and I enjoy you being you! Thank you for inserting the message of the “good news” between the lines. Thank you for sharing your gifts.
Joseph N. Greenfield, Lexington, Kentucky, June 28, 2002
I found Keith very approachable and knowledgeable of subject. His enthusiasm kept me very interested. Karla Johnston, RDCS, LaMesa, California, July 1, 2002
I found Keith a very intelligent and interesting person who was able to fulfill my expectations for this course. He was always prompt in answering questions in a clear, although very detailed and explanatory way. I would recommend KMA Hands-On Imaging course to people interested in the medical field.
Karina De Paula, RDCS, Santa Ana, California, July 1, 2002
Great Job, KMA! I have been here for two weeks (my fourth class), but the time has gone by pretty fast. Your training style makes learning fun and easy.
Drew Connor, Monticello, Arkansas, July 1, 2002
I had no experience with an ultrasound machine and now I can do so much! Thank you: Now I’m a “10” and working on better!
Shelley Coleman, Pascagoula, Mississippi, July 1, 2002
I had an opportunity to use a lot of different equipment. The lectures were very good. Everyone helped me to accomplish making sense of things and always making sure our needs were met. I was very pleased with the consult by cardiovascular. The study presentation and practical application was excellent. I appreciate your institution and you for helping make me understand the medical aspects of echocardiography and the vascular ultrasound study.
Mumtaz Farash, MD, Fort Worth, Texas, July 1, 2002
This has been my first conference on clinical diagnostic ultrasound. It is all new to me but extremely beneficial for learning. As a nurse I was already familiar with the anatomy of the neck and arteries. But it was so rewarding to learn the locations of the bifurcations and to actually find them with the equipment and utilizing the skills you’ve taught us. Thank you for all your encouragement and your unique way of teaching.
